It’s been since 2009, eleven consecutive seasons, since Zilb (FFL) had a winning record or won money. This streak is the longest current. It has been eight consecutive seasons for Dan/Ross (OCD) of consecutive seasons without a winning record; though they were in the money the last two.
Mike W/Rich S (NCT) won money and had a winning record for the fifth consecutive season; both the longest such current streaks. Talk about year-to-year parity, Nick (PHI) is the only other team with consecutive winning seasons, currently at two.
First time Paul/Sam been out of the money two consecutive seasons since 2008-2009. 2008 was the year Sam became co-owner with Paul (who did not win money in 2007 either).
After three consecutive seasons Terry (KEY) was NOT in the top two overall in points.
KEY went from first in 2019 to worst (13th) in cumulative points this year. This comparative twelve spot drop was the biggest since Paul (DAL) went from 2nd to14th (2006-2007). The only other times we had a season-to-season drop from worst to first were: Ron/Greg 1st to 14th(1999-2000) and Nibs 1st to 12th (1993-1994).
This is the first time in KEY franchise history they ended up with the fewest total overall points They were the last of our franchises to have had never accomplished this embarrassing dishonor.
CHI (Ron F.) had the biggest comparative point gain going from 11th in 2019 to 2nd this season.
This season marked the first time that owner Ron F. won the most money. This leaves four owners; Eggo, Jim, Dan/Ross and Trz/Chris/Jeff as the only who have yet to attain this lofty feat, with Eggo and Jim being the only two never in the top two in year-end money.
With the new PPR rules and the explosion in offense this season, 1000 points is no longer the barometer of an outstanding season total. We smashed the cumulative points total as every team but one (KEY) exceeded 1000. Ron F and Doug both totaled over 1500 points;the next highest was Nick (PHI), far behind at 1313.
The average points per team per game was 73.17, well above the previous season high set in 2018 of 60.72.
PHI lost the Fantasy Bowl for a record 7th time in a record 11 tries. Note: Only BOX (DougW.), BOS (Ying), and the MUD (twice as the Riot) franchises have has been in the championship that many times; each with seven appearances.
Despite the fact that COVID transactions were complimentary….
The second most money was spent in total on transactions ever.
Dallas lead the league and broke a league record in transaction spend this season ($111), eclipsing the old mark ($102)set by Ying just last year; in fact In 13 seasons since Sam has returned to league ownership his squad has been in the top three of transaction spend each season (the most 7 times, second most four times, and third twice.)
Ying was tied for fourth in transaction spend. He has been in the top four in this category every season, except for 1994 (our third year of league existence).
Eggo spent more on transactions this season than he has ever (just a whopping $34). Note: Sam and Ying usually spend that much in a single weekend. Nick also broke a record for all-time franchise transaction spend.
Ron Feldman has not spent less on transactions since 2001 and Rich/Mike have not spent less on transactions since2007; both teams with solid cores and posted winning records this season.
As always Special thanks to Ying for running the draft and website and to Trz for keeping the weekly Excel spreadsheets
FOR THE 29TH STRAIGHT YEAR, THERE WERE AS MANY TEAM VICTORIES AS LOSSES THIS SEASON.
